A teenager was among three persons arrested for firearm-related offences when police conducted several anti-crime exercises in the South Western Division on Tuesday.
According to a TTPS report, Task Force officers proceeded to a location at Sudama Alley in Siparia, where they apprehended two male suspects after they recovered one revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition in the possession of one of the men.
The suspects, a 36-year-old of Guapo and a Form Five student of Palo Seco, were arrested in connection with the find.
Meanwhile, in the Cedros district, officers assisted by the Canine Branch and personnel of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, conducted an exercise over the weekend which resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old fisherman of Icacos Beach Road, for possession of a Glock-17 pistol, loaded with a magazine containing eight rounds of ammunition.
The officers then proceeded to a coconut estate along the Icacos beach, where they conducted a search, which resulted in the discovery of a plastic bag containing three magazines and 84 rounds of assorted ammunition.
